Convenient and Easy!Aug 05, 2008

I got used to using dried mushrooms when Sam's Warehouse Club used to sell them. I love the convenience of having my mushrooms already cleaned and prepped, and always on hand. The drying process concentrates the flavor beautifully! And, when you powder them, no complaints about the texture! No kids refusing to taste the dish!
For some reason, Sam's stopped selling them, and I had to do without. I shopped the Internet, but the cost plus shipping made them out of reach. Then I discovered these.
These mushrooms are wonderful! I stir an eighth of a cup or so into spaghetti sauce for two people, and they rehydrate there, imparting a concentrated mushroom flavor that really "kicks it up a notch"! They're great dropped into a pot of stew or sprinkled over the veggies under a pot roast, and my husband uses just a little bit in an omelet. If you wish to disguise their presence in a dish, the dried mushrooms can easily be powdered in a mini-chopper. This powder, used judiciously, is terrific in a meat loaf!
I've shopped the Internet for hours, and this is the best cost plus shipping price, per ounce, (Price: $10.50 + $6.70 shipping) that I've ever seen for dried mushrooms. I recommend them highly!

Good shrooms!May 06, 2010

I throw these in casseroles, rice, and have even made omelets with these little guys. Perfect little cuts of white button mushrooms with a deep, rich flavor. Perfectly dried. A little smelly from being so concentrated, but not to worry, they are awesome once re-hydrated in the dish of your choice.
