Buy this delicious clotted cream!!Apr 15, 2006
By Kurt A. Johnson Just what is clotted cream? You make clotted cream by heating and cooling milk, allowing the cream to rise in "clots," and then skimming the clots from the top. (This is sometime called Devonshire cream, as well.) The result is a thick yellowish spread that tastes to me like whipped butter, but sweeter and not salty.
Let me tell you, clotted cream is delicious, perfectly made to put on biscuits and (especially) scones. There is nothing as delicious as a scone, straight out of the oven, and spread with clotted cream! Find out what the British have known for generations - buy this delicious clotted cream!!

Soooo goodNov 25, 2007
By Bliss 149 Have to agree with the other reviewers...sounds terrible - tastes amazing. It has a lighter texture than butter. It also reminds me a little of creme fraiche. I love it on English Muffins with Lemon Curd. Those 3 items make a killer (and different) little gift basket too.

Only from England could come a product called " clotted cream" which sounds pretty awful and just tastes so good.

I was eager to try this clotted cream after reading about it in books and magazines (silly perhaps, but gourmet curiosity on my part). I enjoyed the creamy taste, but was a bit disappointed in the flavor - just wasn't unusual or special like I imagined it would be.
I'm sure if you already know clotted cream, then you won't be disappointed. And the jar of clotted cream is handy for storing until you're ready to use it, unlike a fresh cream. I gave it a 4, rather than 5 because it wasn't quite what I expected.
