This panettone is one of the best that I have ever tried. In two days the whole cake was gone, it was that good. The use of whole almonds really hit the spot as far as crunch was concerned, but the taste itself was that exquisite Old World taste that a lot of us crave from time to time.
I highly recommend all Amazon users to try this Christmas cake, the Glazed Italian Panettone with Whole Almonds, at any time. Order two or more; it is well worth it to have extra panettones around for your own gustatory pleasure or for that of others. Be generous! Turn others on to these exquisite delights by presenting them as the perfect Christmas gifts! I ordered this cake last year and wanted a Panettone that did not have candied citrus in it so I went out on a limb and ordered this one. OMG, I loved it. Soft, buttery and as fresh as fresh can be. Reminded me of the Italian bakery's at home where we would order them for Christmas and pick them up all wrapped up in the pretty paper. So needless to say I am getting ready to order again. Just so u know I cut this huge cake into 8 parts and froze individually and when defrosted it was still amazing oh yes, also makes great bread pudding. Happy Holidays!
