| | | | Prosciutto & Pancetta | Home » » » Mantova Pesto Genovese 6.5 Oz | | | | | | | Description: | | Pesto is an Italian sauce, generally attributed to the Liguria region of Northern Italy, specifically the city of Genoa (pesto alla Genovese). It has been known, in various forms, since Roman times, and probably originated in North Africa.
The image of Liguria is linked as much to basil as to its sea. Here the special microclimate and the ideal soil favor the growth of a variety with a particularly balanced fragrance and taste.
The true standard-bearer of Ligurian cooking, pesto alla genovese is a green condiment perfect for pastas such as troffie, lasagna and tagliolini. It also proves to have excellent versatility, as it can be used on pizza or to flavor vegetable soups. Simple ingredients and an attachment to the land is what have made this a true culinary tradition. | | | Features: | |

I love this pesto! I purchased it while on vacation at my favorite cook's store on Cape Cod, and couldn't wait to get home to try it...it didn't disappoint! Very fresh, nicely blended basil flavor (not too overpowering). I am pleased to see it being sold on Amazon, as I plan to stock up the next go round.
Enjoy it with some al dente pasta and your favorite vino...and don't forget to play some Beatles music in the background for some ambiance! :) (It's also okay to have some Andrea Bocelli on as well...)

Worst food experience ever.Jun 08, 2010
By Sad consumer I bought this sauce at a local grocery store eager to make a pesto dish. I opened it hearing the pop, meaning it was properly sealed, and lo and behold inside was a LIVE beetle. Threw the bottle away. Makes me shudder how many other jars are infested with bugs and larva.
