 Too smokey for Montreal smoked meatJun 03, 2011

As an ex-Montrealer, I found the meat to be too smokey compared to true Montreal smoked meat. However, the quality of the meat was excellent, and the meat packages were packed extremely well and shipped quickly.

Maybe it has changed, but it's exactly as the Amazon.com description I read. It's Montreal Smoked Meat, presliced and in packets. It's not pastrami. If you want pastrami, buy pastrami. It's Montreal Smoked Meat and perfect as such.

"Book collector"
I purchased this product as a birthday gift for a Canadian expat. Communication with the seller was very easy and the replies to my questions were prompt. The meat was shipped via 2-day air to get to us cold and fresh, and it was packed in a cooler with gel ice packs.
It's just splendid meat. Not too fatty, perfect for sandwiches. The flavor is very smoky and delicious, and the person it was purchased for said that the taste was spot-on for what was remembered from buying this same product in Canada proper.
The amount of meat for the price is very reasonable.
We'll be shopping from this seller again.

It tasts fine... But I was expecting a 3 1/2 lb. beef brisket...instead i got five packs of shaved smoked beef. Not bad mind you, but the description clearly leads one to expect a WHOLE beef brisket... I can get sliced meat at the local deli... I was expecting much more.

I am fully satisfied with the brisket.
There is only two reasons that I would like it better.
#1 more fat on the meat, Pastrami with out fat just does not taste like pastrami
#2 more broth so that I could make a pastrami dip.
