The Real Thing -- A Great GiftMay 30, 2010

I love Manchego cheese and this is the real stuff. A sliced Fuji apple with a few slices of Manchego ~ heaven. With the shipping it ends up costing about $20 per pound. Ouch!! But considering the fact that Manchego isn't available in my local area at ANY price, and the fact that it's about the same price at the gourmet shop in Portland where I first found it, I'd say being able to get it on Amazon is a gift.
I think that shipping it in a styrofoam-lined box with a little frozen ice bag is a little silly, although the packaging is clever. I mean, come on, the cheese has already aged 6 months at a cool room temp. What, it can't stand a couple more days? That's just me. Most people would appreciate the extra protection this packaging offers.
La Tienda sends their catalog along with the purchase. Whew! Very spendy! However, if you know a gourmet who really has absolutely everything and you have a few dollars to spend, this would be the place.
