This product is seductive, sensual, fastastic and sensational.Jan 20, 2010

I have been to Italy for more trips than I care to count, and the first time that I had pasta with white truffle butter cream sauce was in 2005. It was incredible and I fell in love with it (this was in Florence and Stresa). I created a recipe for a similar sauce at home, using the D'Artagnan product and it turned out to be sensational. Everyone that I have given samples to have echoed my sentiments. I always keep a stock on hand in my freezer (by the way, it freezes beautifully) so that I can create sumptuous recipes at home. Since I have had such fantastic results with the D'Artagnan product, I refuse to use any other. There have been times that Amazon has dropped the D'Artagnan white truffle butter product, and this is why I always like to keep a supply on hand in my freezer. By the way, I also created a lobster ravioli recipe and the white truffle butter cream sauce is something to die for with the ravioli. It also works extremely well with any plain pasta (be it fettuccine, etc.). By the way, I make my ravioli by hand, but I have been known to use dried fettuccine in other recipes. Buon appetit and enjoy the culinary journey!

Not what I had hoped forJan 08, 2010
By N. A. Horan After hearing the Barefoot Contessa rave about using this product in recipes, I was disappointed by the actual taste which was ho-hum. Besides...the cost of shipping this item made it even more of a disappointment.

I bought this from the actual vendor and saved on shipping b/c I bought other things. I have one in the freezer. I use it for that last step in making risottos (monticare) when you put a tbsp. of butter in at the end and whisk it smooth. I add other mushrooms to it too. However, you can make your own truffle butter more cheaply...one way is to buy a jar of truffles in a liquid, you can puree it and add it to your own softened butter. Even easier is taking some good-quality truffle oil and add it to softened butter. The taste will come thru.

I was not happy with this truffle butter. It is flavored with truffle oil there is no truffle in the mix.... Too bad. Good thing I had already found real truffle butter at Whole Foods the day before this arrived so I could make Thanksgiving Dinner
