LOVE IT!Dec 08, 2007

This is an amazing product and we just love it! The quality of the truffle oil is excellent and the customer service at JR mushrooms and specialties is even better. They had accidentally shipped the black truffle oil, and when I contacted them, they were extremely professional and courteous. We received the correct item just 2 days later. They even let us keep the black for the inconvenience. We will definitely buy from them exclusively in the future. Highly recommend!

Actually and sadly, there's no such thing as real truffle oil.Jul 03, 2009
By A New York Prof I too was fooled, but apparently there is no such thing as truffle oil made with truffles. They are all made with a chemical compound. See this article from the New York Times:

As the article notes, it's not possible to infuse oil with a truffles and ALL oils claiming to be made from truffles aren't. Don't feel too bad, even rather famous chefs fell for the idea. But all of this explains the "one-dimensional flavor" of these oils. One might argue if it tastes good then it doesn't matter. Perhaps, but that doesn't explain why the oils costs so much.

By Laurie d'Ault I love this product. I also bought their black truffle oil, which has a different (maybe you could say a little heavier as well) taste altogether. I have used both in risotto and I used this in a mostly morell mushroom soup I made for Christmas. It adds so much flavour, you won't believe it. And pricewhys, it is a fantastic value.

By Richardlmiller I used this truffle on mashed potatoes this holiday season. Many guests asked me why the potatoes tasted so well and different. I showed them the bottle and told them they could get the truffle oil on amazon.

Wow. Who knew?Oct 20, 2010
By DivaTYD Being the adventurous cook that I am, I needed truffle oil for a new application I was trying out for a Saturday dinner party. Never having tasted truffle oil, let alone a truffle, I figured regular oil would do. I am so glad I found this product. It made all the difference. Imagine the earthiest flavor you can and then triple it. That's what this oil gives you.
I can't wait to find more applications that call for it.
